Posting Through The Sirens

How does it feel to be a content creator in the middle of war?

It’s Friday, I’m back to my favorite mall. It feels like I haven’t been here, writing, in over a year. In reality, it’s been only eight days since my world got turned upside down.

Last Thursday, my country, Israel, dealt a preemptive strike at Iran. Ever since that day, I’ve been dealing with a major life change: can’t go outside, all commercial businesses closed in a similar fashion to 2020, and sleep deprivation of varying levels.

Things started to calm down a little bit yesterday and businesses are opening up again. But the caution is still there. I won’t go where I know there’s no shelter. And there’s still a chance of rockets.

It’s a weird feeling: many in our community are rooting for the simple Iranian citizen while hating their regime. I grew up knowing Iran wants to kill all of us, I just never thought something would be done about it. It’s like I know I’ll never visit Egypt. We have peace, but excluding the Sinai peninsula, not many people view Egypt as an actual tourist location.

Throughout these eight days, I haven’t been posting. I am just so burned out of war and it’s not even over. But a thought came up to me that I want to explore with you.

Let’s dive in.
